At medtigo Journal, we are committed to providing high-quality open access to medical research without imposing hefty fees on our authors. We aim to ensure that our journal is accessible, ethical, and affordable. Below, you’ll find detailed information regarding our fee structure, waiver policies, and refund procedures.
Publication Fee
We have a nominal fee to maintain our digital platform, ensuring the sustainability of our open-access model. The Online Maintenance Fee is USD 100.
This fee is applied upon the acceptance of your article, and it helps cover the costs of maintaining the digital platform, hosting the journal, and ensuring the smooth operation of our manuscript submission system.
Waiver Policies
We understand that financial constraints can be a barrier to publishing quality research. As such, we offer several waiver and discount options:
- Editorial Board Members: Active members of our editorial board are entitled to publish one article per year free of any charges.
- Peer Reviewers: Reviewers who have completed six or more reviews within a calendar year are eligible to publish one article free of charge.
- Discounts for Authors: Authors can now take advantage of a limited time offer. If the authors provide four peer reviewer references, they will receive a 50% discount. For eight peer reviewer references, they will receive a full discount.
- Authors from Low-Income Countries: Authors from countries listed on the World Bank’s most recent low-income economies classification are eligible for a 100% waiver of the maintenance fee.
- Authors from Lower-Middle-Income Countries: Authors from countries listed on the World Bank’s most recent lower-middle-income economies classification are eligible for a 50% waiver of the maintenance fee.
Waiver requests should be made during the manuscript submission process. Please note that waivers cannot be applied retroactively.
Editing Fees
We do not charge for the basic editing of articles. However, articles with significant errors in language, formatting, or references may require additional editing services, which will be charged based on the extent of the required revisions.
- Basic Editing: Included in the maintenance fee.
- Preferred Editing: Charged if the article contains more than five errors in critical areas such as grammar, syntax, and formatting. The fee is calculated based on the number and severity of errors, such as additional USD 50 or USD 100.
Refund Policy
We aim to provide a fair and transparent service. Refunds will only be issued if we are unable to publish the article due to our own errors, such as failure to prepare the galley proof or to publish the article online. In such cases, we will retain a small processing fee (USD 50) and refund the remaining amount.
Please note that once an article is published online, no refunds will be issued.
