Below is a detailed peer review policy that outlines our commitment to transparency, objectivity, and academic integrity.
A. Peer Review Statement : This journal uses a double anonymous peer review process, where reviewers do not know the authors’ identities, and authors do not know the reviewers. This approach facilitates constructive feedback while minimizing bias and maintaining the integrity of scholarly assessment.
- Secure Storage: Keep electronic copies of manuscripts in secure, password-protected locations and avoid public devices.
- Email Security: Ensure that the email platform is secure when receiving peer review requests and do not forward manuscripts to unauthorized recipients.
- Anonymization: Discuss reviews with colleagues in a way that does not reveal the identity of the manuscript or authors.
- Delete Copies: After the review, immediately delete all electronic copies from all devices and cloud storage.
- No Personal Use: Reviewers must not use unpublished data from the manuscript for personal research or professional gain.
By following these practices, peer reviewers can effectively uphold the confidentiality essential to the review process.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential material and refrain from sharing content or discussions about the work without permission. Reviewers must also avoid using AI tools that may breach confidentiality, unless explicitly allowed by the editorial office. They should avoid inserting the manuscript inside any chatbot.
- Integrity and Objectivity: Reviewers should provide unbiased and constructive feedback. Any conflicts of interest, such as financial ties or personal relationships, must be disclosed upfront. If a conflict exists, reviewers should recuse themselves from the assignment.
- Competence and Expertise: Reviewers should only accept assignments where they have sufficient expertise. If unfamiliar with the topic, reviewers should promptly notify the editorial team to reassign the task.
- Timeliness: Peer reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed timelines. If delays are unavoidable, they should inform the editorial team immediately.
- Respect for Intellectual Property: Reviewers must protect the intellectual property of the authors. Any suspected plagiarism or data manipulation must be reported to the editorial team.
3. Peer Review Process
The medtigo Journal Network follows a structured and transparent peer review process to ensure high-quality publications. Our rigorous review system is designed to maintain the integrity of scientific research while providing timely feedback to authors. Below is a detailed outline of our peer review workflow:
A. Initial Copy Editing and Plagiarism Check :
- Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening for plagiarism using advanced detection tools.
- Basic copy-editing is performed to ensure clarity, readability, and adherence to journal guidelines.
B. Assignment to Peer Reviewers :
- After the initial screening, the manuscript is shared with 4-6 peer reviewers who are subject matter experts.
- medtigo leverages its robust database of over 500 doctors from around the world to identify suitable reviewers.
- The assignment process ensures a diverse and qualified panel of experts to provide comprehensive evaluations.
C. Turnaround Time for Initial Review :
- The manuscript is assigned to reviewers within a maximum of 48 hours after submission.
- Peer reviewers are requested to complete their evaluations within one week.
D. Review Feedback and Author Revisions :
- Once the peer review comments are received, the editorial management team compiles the feedback and emails the author.
- If multiple reviews are obtained, only relevant and constructive comments are shared with the author for revision.
- The author is required to address all comments and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified time frame.
E. Expert Supervision and Final Checks :
- After the author submits the revised manuscript, our team of experts reviews the changes to ensure that all peer review comments have been adequately addressed.
- The manuscript then undergoes a final round of copy-editing, plagiarism check, and proofreading to ensure accuracy and consistency.
F. Publication :
- Once all final checks are completed, the manuscript is prepared for publication.
- The entire peer review and publication process typically takes 4-6 weeks, ensuring a balance between thorough evaluation and timely dissemination of research.
4. Authorship and Contributions
This section explains the criteria for authorship, contributions, and ethical responsibilities based on ICMJE recommendations.
To ensure clarity and accountability in research contributions, medtigo Journal Network requires all authors to meet strict authorship and contributorship criteria. These standards are designed to maintain the integrity of the published work and provide transparency regarding each author’s role.

At medtigo Journal Network, we are committed to providing high-quality open access to medical research without imposing hefty fees on our authors. We aim to ensure that our journal is accessible, ethical, and affordable. Below, you’ll find detailed information regarding our fee structure, waiver policies, and refund procedures.
We have a nominal fee to maintain our digital platform, ensuring the sustainability of our open-access model. The Online Maintenance Fee is USD 100.
This fee is applied upon the acceptance of your article, and it helps cover the costs of maintaining the digital platform, hosting the journal, and ensuring the smooth operation of our manuscript submission system.
B. Waiver Policies
We understand that financial constraints can be a barrier to publishing quality research. As such, we offer several waiver and discount options:
Fee Waiver – Full (100% Discount)
- If at least one author on the manuscript is a member of the editorial board.
- If at least one author on the manuscript is a peer reviewer.
- If authors on manuscript have in aggregate provided minimum of eight peer reviewer recommendations.
Fee Waiver – 50% Discount
- If authors on manuscript have in aggregate provided minimum of four peer reviewer recommendations.
Waiver requests should be made during the manuscript submission process. Please note that waivers cannot be applied retroactively.
We do not charge for the basic editing of articles. However, articles with significant errors in language, formatting, or references may require additional editing services, which will be charged based on the extent of the required revisions.
- Basic Editing: Included in the maintenance fee.
- Preferred Editing: Charged if the article contains more than five errors in critical areas such as grammar, syntax, and formatting. The fee is calculated based on the number and severity of errors, such as additional USD 50 or USD 100.
We aim to provide a fair and transparent service. Refunds will only be issued if we are unable to publish the article due to our own errors, such as failure to prepare the galley proof or to publish the article online. In such cases, we will retain a small processing fee (USD 50) and refund the remaining amount.
Please note that once an article is published online, no refunds will be issued.
